Sail & Ski – Guided Backcountry Adventure in Svalbard
May 16–22, 2026
Basecamp: Ovni alubat S/Y SISU
Set your course for one of the planet’s wildest and most breathtaking playgrounds — the Arctic wilderness of Svalbard. Join us for an unforgettable week where skiing untouched slopes meets the magic of Arctic sailing. This guided Sail & Ski expedition is all about freedom, exploration, and connection — with the mountains, the sea, and each other.
Itinerary
May 16 – Welcome aboard!
2:00 p.m. meeting at Longyearbyen harbor (detailed arrival instructions will be sent to participants).
We’ll get to know each other, tour our expedition sailboat S/Y SISU, and review important safety procedures for life at sea.
We’ll set sail toward our first ski destination, enjoy a delicious dinner together, and prepare our gear for the next day’s adventure.
May 17–21 – Guided ski touring days
Our professional guide and skipper team will carefully choose the best descents and snow conditions available each day. Expect five full days of ski touring in some of the most awe-inspiring Arctic terrain imaginable.
Daily routine includes breakfast, packed lunch, and dinner on board.
May 22 – Return to Longyearbyen
We’ll sail back to Longyearbyen harbor, arriving by noon. Time to clean up, pack, and reflect on an extraordinary week in the high Arctic.
Experience Level
Ski touring routes are generally in slopes up to 30°. You should be comfortable skiing intermediate terrain in variable snow conditions and have some experience skiing off-piste.
No prior sailing experience is required — you’ll learn the basics along the way and can take part in all sailing duties together with our crew.
