Our course includes a full day of seven hours of effective practical training and learning—focused on hands-on experience, course materials, and rental of the necessary climbing equipment. Please note that ice climbing boot rental is also included in the course fee, just inform your shoe size upon registration.
It is highly recommended to start an independent ice climbing hobby with a climbing course. The Ice Climbing Beginner Course teaches the essential knowledge and skills needed for independent top-rope climbing on icefalls. The key topics covered in the course include outdoor climbing knots and equipment, building top-rope anchor points in different situations, and rappelling down the rope. The course also covers ice climbing techniques, common hazards, and how to prevent them.
Prerequisites for the Ice Climbing Beginner Course include the basic skills of top-rope climbing, such as belaying, the figure-eight knot, and teamwork with a climbing partner in top-rope climbing. If you feel you need a refresher on these fundamental top-rope climbing skills or have not yet taken a basic indoor climbing course, feel free to contact us. If necessary, we can arrange an additional preparatory session before the ice climbing beginner course as an extra service.
